Bas
Deep Vein
Bas Diepeveen does not think in terms of models, but in terms of problems or challenges. First, he focuses on what is really going on and what is needed. Only then does he choose the appropriate strategy, model, or energy, not as an end in itself, but as a means to an end.
As a self-taught entrepreneur and co-founder of Uitblinqers, Bas built an organization from scratch to more than 3,000 employees spread across eight locations in the Netherlands in eight years. No theoretical blueprint, but learning by discovering and doing. Encountering problems. Solving them. Learning. Scaling up. And starting again with positive energy.
He combined his business sense with smart, well-founded theory. What works in practice and makes sense scientifically and substantively for him, his colleagues, the organization, and customers? That combination made it possible to keep a fast-growing organization afloat, even when culture, leadership, and processes came under pressure. In 2022, Uitblinqers was acquired by Webhelp (now Concentrix).
What did Bas enjoy most? In addition to developing his own people, he enjoyed liaising with his clients. From major brands in the Netherlands to smaller, agile organizations. Companies that wanted to improve. That had reached an impasse. That had ambition, but no solution yet. Understanding their real needs and working together to achieve the desired result.
That's why it made sense for Bas to choose an agency role again. At Brain Bakery, he combines his experience from the agency side and the boardroom. He can quickly analyze where the problems lie, translate that into a sharp strategy, and link it to scientifically based interventions. Always with energy. Because change requires speed.
Bas lives in Hattem with his wife and three children. He enjoys building organizations. And when he's not doing that, he builds something else.

Why Bas?
Because he has done it. Because he understands the game of growth from the inside out. Not in theory, not in a book, but in practice and on a scale involving 3,000 people, eight locations, and a successful exit.
As a strategist, Bas quickly gets to the heart of the problem behind the question. Not the symptom, but the core. He's used to working with management teams, HR teams, and operational leaders. He knows how big brands make decisions. He also knows how smaller organizations stay agile. That combo means he can think strategically and act practically. Theory is important. But only if it helps to actually solve the problem.
As a builder — Growth sounds appealing. Until culture starts to shift. Until leadership fails to grow along with it. Until behavior no longer matches ambition. Bas has experienced all of this. And solved it. He builds structures that can handle scale. Teams that take responsibility. Leaders who understand that exemplary behavior is not a side issue. Not managing, but building. That's what energizes him.
As a complement to Jeanne — Jeanne brings the content, the method, and the scientific foundation. Bas brings the scale experience, the strategic lens, and the commercial instinct. Together, they ensure that Brain Bakery is not only strong in terms of content, but can also continue to grow organizationally and strategically.
Colleagues describe Bas as open, positive, smart, creative, and professional. Someone with a "can-do" attitude who inspires confidence and delivers results.
